こまは世界中で古来から遊ばれて来た伝承玩具のひとつですが、その「回る」原理は現代社会でも驚くほど私たちの生活を支える欠かせない技術として広く応用され活用されています。難しい解説からではなく、参加者の皆様が逆立ちこまやヘビこまなど様々なこまを自由に回して楽しんでいただき、その体験の中で「重心、慣性の法則、ジャイロ効果、歳差運動」などの原理を体感されて疑問や興味が湧くかもしれません。疑問にはスタッフが丁寧に対応し説明しますので、お子さんから大人まで存分に好奇心を満足させられる企画です。テーマに関連した子ども向けの科学の本の展示とブックトーク、読み聞かせ、科学工作（材料費実費100円）も楽しめます。

Rather than starting with difficult explanations, participants had fun spinning various tops such as handstand tops and snake tops, and during that experience, they learned about things such as the center of gravity, the law of inertia, the gyro effect, and precession. After experiencing the principle, you may have questions and become interested. The staff will carefully answer and explain any questions you may have, so this is a project that will satisfy the curiosity of both children and adults. You can also enjoy an exhibition of science books for children related to the theme, book talks, story-telling, and science crafts (materials cost 100 yen).
